Chiavari chair 'the chiavarina' - mid 20th century

The designer, Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi , Chiavari the manufacturer. This particular piece came with a worn red velvet and gave high church vibes, so I upholstered it with a much softer and richer velvet.

This type of chair claimed its fame when it was designed for and used at the wedding celebration of John and Jackie Kennedy.
